SUMMARY: Currently traced back to Thomas Vennard, a farm labourer and later a weaver, born about 1800, who married Mary McDermid during the 1820's and lived in Cloncore, Tartaraghan, Co. Armagh. They had three known children, Alexander (1825), Thomas (1827) and Edward (1829). Nothing further is known about Alexander or Edward. Thomas, born 29 March 1827 in Cloncore, settled in Derrykeevan, Tartaraghan where he married Mary Campbell in 1851. Both were weavers. They settled in Glasgow, Scotland where Thomas became a shipbuilders labourer and had 7 children:-
i) Thomas (b 1857, Cloncore). A shipyard labourer who married Rose Moonan in 1880. Emigrated to USA after his wife's death. Five children John (1881), appears to have stayed in Glasgow; Mary [Minnie] emigrated to USA and married James Branagan, had 5 children {James, Elizabeth, Bernard, Doris and Harold}and settled in Panama; Helen [Ellen] (1885-1898); Thomas (1888) emigrated to New York USA, married Catherine and had 5 children (Mary, Helen, Catherine, Thomas and James); James (1890-1954) emigrated to USA, married Ann McIlroy in 1923 [his grand-daughter Kim Baker is currently researching this branch of the family].
ii) Catherine (b 1858, Cloncore). A housekeeper who married Felix Murphy in 1889. No further information.
iii) Joseph (b 1861 Cloncore, d 1925). A shipbuilders labourer who married Matilda McNeil in 1887, settled in Partick, Glasgow. Five children Mary (1886-1894); John (1888); Henry (1891); Agnes McNeil (1893-1895); Matilda (1896-1897).
iv) Henry (b 1866 Cloncore, d. 1887 Glasgow)
v) Susan (TWIN b 1869, Breagh, Tartaraghan, d. 1914 Partrick, Glasgow). Married Francis Quinn 1895.
vi) Margaret (TWIN b 1869, Breagh, Tartaraghan, d.1915 New Kilpartick, Glasgow). Married Patrick Purcell 1892.
vii) Ellen (b 1871 Breagh, d. 1873 Tartaraghan).

Thomas died in 1895 in Partick, Glasgow, his wife Mary had preceded him in 1885.
